3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION

Iron (III) Chloride : harmful if swallowed. Causes burns.
Sulfuric acid : causes severe burns.
Isopropanol : highly flammable. Irritating to eyes. Vapours may cause
drowsiness and dizziness.
Citric Acid : irritating to respiratory system and skin. Risk of serious
damage to eyes.


4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Reagent 1
Inhalation : remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial
respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a
physician immediately.
Ingestion : if swallowed wash out mouth with water provided person
is conscious, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get medical
attention immediately.
Skin Contact : immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes while removing contaminated clothing and
shoes. Call a physician, immediately. Wash clothing
before reuse.
Eye Contact : immediately flush eyes with gentle but large stream of
water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper
eyelids occasionally. Call a physician immediately.

Ingestion : ingestion can cause burns of the mouth, throat,
oesophagus and gastrointestinal tract. DO NOT INDUCE
VOMITING. Give large quantities of water or milk of
magnesia. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Immediately flush with water.
Skin Contact : immediately wash skin with soap and copious amounts of
water.
Eye Contact : immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for
at least 15 minutes.

Evacuate area. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots, and heavy rubber gloves. Ventilate
area and wash spill site after material pick-up is complete.
Reagent 2 & 3
Evacuate area. Shut off all sources of ignition. Use non-sparking tools. Wear self-contained breathing
apparatus, rubber boots, and heavy rubber gloves. Cover with dry-lime, sand or soda ash. Place in covered
containers using non-sparking tools and transport outdoors. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material
pick-up is complete


7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Store reagents below 25癈. Keep away from light.


8. EXPOSURE CONTROL / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Engineering controls : safety shower and eye bath. Preferred use in chemical
fume hood.
Ventilation : good ventilation should be sufficient. Supplementary
ventilation or respiratory protection may be needed in
special circumstances
Skin and eye protection : rubber gloves, safety glasses with side shields, mask,
protective clothing.

Exposure effects : burning sensation, coughing, wheezing, laryngitis,
shortness of breath, headache, nausea, and vomiting.

pulmonary oedema.

ACGIH, NTP, or EPA classification.
Exposure effects : can cause CNS depression. Prolonged exposure can
cause: nausea, headache, and vomiting. Narcotic effect.
