It is applied for decorative protection of wooden and metal surfaces in closed premises and on the
outside under normal atmospheric conditions. If necessary it may be thinned with AMV Thinner.

2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

The product is flammable.
Irritating to respiratory system.
Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed.
Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.
Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness.
Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.

3. CONTENT OF THE PRODUCT

The product is a well-homogenized suspension of pigments, fillers, solvents and specific additives
in medium oil alkyd resin.
According to the EU Directives 67/548, 88/379 and 92/32 the product is classified as a
dangerous substance.

General information:
Immediately remove the contaminated clothing.
Inhalation:
Immediately move the casualty to fresh air. Keep him warm and at rest. In case of complaints,
seek medical help.
Ingestion:
Do not drink and do not induce vomiting, if the patient is unconscious or with convulsions. In case
of complaints seek medical help.
Skin or clothes contact:
Wash the affected skin with water and soap and rinse well. Do not use organic solvents. In case of
skin reactions seek medical help.
Eye contact:
Wash the eyes with running water for several minutes, holding eyelids open.
Remove contact lenses. Call an ophthalmologist.
Possible symptoms and effects:
Symptoms caused by prolonged exposure of the product to the human organism: dizziness,
headache, nausea, respiratory problems, skin inflammation and eye irritation.
The following precautions must be present at the work place:
Equipment for eye washing/rinsing.
Protective facemasks.
Notes to the doctor:
There is no specific antidote. The treatment from the overexposure should be directed to control of
the symptoms and clinical treatment of the patient.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

General directions:
Remove all sources of fire: e.g. open fire, lit cigarettes, sparks from tools/equipment. Always keep
packages closed.
Suitable extinguishing agents:
Alkali resistant foam, dry chemical powder, CO2, water spray.
Unsuitable extinguishing agents:
Thick water jet.
Special hazards arising from the product itself, products formed as a result of its
incineration or gasses formed:
Take into consideration that dangerous gas products and thick soot may be formed during its
burning.
Special protective equipment:
Using a gas mask and protective firemen clothing is recommended.
Additional instructions:
Extinguish fire in the wind direction. Cool the non-burning packages by spraying water. Prevent
spillage and remove the packages to a safe place.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions:
Remove all possible sources of ignition.
Provide adequate ventilation.
Wear suitable personal protective equipment (see Item 8).
Environment precautions:
Prevent spillage in water basins, tanks, basements, drains and sewerage.

If the product has penetrated into water basins, sewerage, the soil or plants, advise the Fire brigade
and the Police.
Prevent accumulation of vapours in closed premises.
Methods for cleaning up:
In case of spillage, surround the spillage and mix it with soil, sand or other similar inert
absorbents. Collect in appropriate containers, marked as hazardous waste. Do not return the spilled
material back into the original packages.
Safely transfer this mixture to an approved site for disposal of hazardous waste or incinerate it
under controlled conditions.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE OF THE PRODUCT

Handling:
General precautions for handling the product:
Provide adequate ventilation when handling or storing the product. Do not exceed the
concentration limits given in item 8!
Do not eat or drink at the workplace.
Do not smoke. Observe the fire prevention measures. Ensure protection from explosion.
Do not pollute the environment.
Storage:
Store in original, tightly closed containers, out of the reach of children or any other unauthorized
personnel, in covered and dry storehouses, at a temperature up to 30癈, away from direct sunlight.
The storehouses should be equipped in compliance with the local Regulations for storage of
flammable materials.
Do not keep the product together with foodstuffs, drinks or fodder.
Packages should be marked with original labels of the producer.
Observe the storage requirements indicated on the label.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROL AND PERSONAL PROTECTION

Technical measures for supervising the safety labour requirement observance:
Provide adequate ventilation in the working premises to ensure that the defined admissible
concentration limit of the vapours from the volatile part of the product is not exceeded:
Use only non-sparking tools/equipment. Ensure safe static electricity discharge.

Exposure limits for chemical agents in the air at the work place in accordance with
Regulation No. 13.

Personal protection:
Use protective work clothing.
Respiratory protection:
In case of insufficiently ventilated work areas and when spraying the product, respiratory
protection is necessary. Filtering mask with introduction of fresh air, type A is recommended.
In case of sensitisation of the respiratory system (asthma, chronic bronchitis) it is recommended to
avoid working with the product.

Hand protection:
Always wear protective gloves made of nitryl with a thickness of 0,40 mm.
Penetration time for the glove material: > 30 minutes.
In case of contamination the work gloves must be changed immediately.
Eye protection:
It is recommended to use a protective facemask or goggles when spraying with the product.
Body protection:
Wear non-static protective clothing, rubber boots.
Hygiene measures:
Immediately change the contaminated clothing. Wash hands and face after handling the product.
Use a skin protection cream.
Other protective equipment:
The storage and handling places should be equipped with devices for washing/ eye rinsing.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
The product is stable under normal storage conditions. There are no hazardous decomposition
products in case of correct storage and use.

Irritating effect on the eyes, skin and respiratory system
After contact with the eyes:
Drops from the product or its vapours in a high concentration may cause eye irritation.
After contact with the skin:
Irritating. Danger from absorption through the skin.
The prolonged and intensive contact with the skin may cause a loss of sub-dermal fat and
dermatitis.
After inhalation of the vapours:
The vapours have a narcotic effect.
Prolonged inhalation of concentrated organic solvents present in the product, exceeding the
admissible concentration limit (see item 8) may cause irritation of the mucous tissue of the
respiratory tract.

Cancerogenous effect:
Shelsol 100
There is a hazard of irreversible effects (ethylbenzene).

Toxicity to the reproductive system:

Does not affect the reproductive ability.

Other indications:

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Any remainder of the product or waste material left from its application, as well as the used
packages should be disposed according to the local Regulations for processing of special and
dangerous waste products.
Recommended disposal methods:
Incinerate the remainder and waste material at high temperatures under control.
Disposal of waste material in special places approved for disposal of dangerous materials.
Recycling of the solvents by distillation, if possible, in case you can manage the problem with the
distillation residua.
Metal packages should be recycled in steelworks or disposed at specially intended sites, if it is not
possible to be recycled for reuse.
