3 HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Signs & Symptoms of Short-Term (Acute) Exposure
Dizziness, irritation of mucous membranes

Effects of Long-Term (Chronic) Exposure
Prolonged or repeated overexposure may cause impaired lung function, blood disorders, liver and kidney damage. Reports
have associated repeated or prolonged overexposure to solvents with brain damage and nervous system damage.
Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal.

4 FIRST AID MEASURES
Skin
Wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Consult a physician if irritation
persists.

Eye
Flush with copious amounts of water for a minimum of 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

5 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media
Chemical powder, carbon dioxide and foam

Basic Fire Fighting Procedures
Water spray may be ineffective on flames, but can be used to cool endangered containers. Do not enter confined spaces
without full bunker gear (helmet with face shield, bunker coats, gloves, rubber boots, etc.) including a positive-pressure
NIOSH approved, self-contained breathing apparatus.

Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazards
Containers exposed to intense heat should be cooled with water to prevent vapor pressure build-up that could result in
container rupture. Container areas exposed to direct flame should be cooled with water to prevent weakening of container
structure.
25 C
Flash Point

6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Spill or Leak Procedure
Remove all sources of ignition. Cover with liquid absorbent material such a clay, sand or vermiculite. Remove in container
suitable for proper disposal.

7 HANDLING & STORAGE
Storage
Store in a cool, ventilated location. Hot surfaces may ignite product in the absence of smoke in the vicinity of product.

Ventilation
Local exhaust preferred (particularly in curing area). General mechanical ventilation may be sufficient to keep product vapor
concentration within specific time-weighted TLV ranges. If general ventilation proves inadequate to maintain safe vapor
concentration, supplemental local exhaust may be required. Other special precautions such as respiratory masks or
environmental containment devices may be required in extreme cases.
